In Nehemiah 3-4, the people of israel begin to rebuild the wall in Jerusalem. As they began to build they faced all sorts of adversity, but they were able to overcome this through working together. It took all of the people to rebuild the city. When it comes to rebuilding our lives, community and country requires all of us to participate in owning the situation.

Looking at the end of Nehemiah chapter 2, Brian shows us that when evil and sickness happen we often want to know why these things happen. These things always happen by the will of God, but they do not always correlate to punishment and sin. We have sickness in our community, and the scriptures show that these things happen for God to be glorified in what ever circumstances happen.

The land and world we live in is in need of restoration. Beginning this new series in Nehemiah, Brian calls the church to look at their lives and reflect upon the rebuilding that needs to occur in each one of our own lives. We are all leaders and Nehemiah shows us an example of what it means to lead the cause of restoration in our community.

Looking at the life of King Jotham from the Old Testament, Bob highlights the truth that Pastor Brian has been preaching about the last few weeks. Primarily looking at 2 Chronicles 27, we see that this lesser known king was a good king and although he did not bring about great change in the world, was exactly where God wanted him to be; abiding in him.

Looking at Micah 6, Hosea 6, and a couple other passages, Brian breaks down what we are called to do as Christians. To what extent are we to go in following Jesus? What can I get away with and still be okay with God? These may be some of the questions that we ask ourselves. However, God’s word is clear in telling us to that God is not as much satisfied with our sacrifices and worship as obeying him and living humbly before him.
